2017 Winter Wedding Trends

This month starts the beginning of the winter wedding season! Can you believe it? If your wedding is coming up in the next few months, you probably have your details squared away. But we've been around long enough to know that there are brides on all sides of the planning spectrum.

So whether you are planning for this winter or super on the ball for your wedding next winter, we've complied our favorite 2017 winter wedding trends. And they are simply beautiful! Each year we are blown away by the lovely weddings our brides plan, and writing this blog has gotten us gets us SO excited for these upcoming winter weddings!

Drip Cakes

We've seen naked cakes, simple white and greenery cakes and now the new new is drip cakes. If you haven't seen one of these cake videos on Instagram, you're missing out. Really! It's absolutely mesmerizing.

And during the winter when the scenery is typically more gray and neutral, don't be afraid to spice up your color palette. We are loving how these blush, crimson and berry hues play together. The pastel and jewel-tone combo is a winner, for sure!

The velvet trend is coming in hard and fast! We are obsessed with this groom's emerald blazer and these sweet pink heels. But the applications are practically limitless. Imagine a velvet sash to show off your waistline or long, velvet ribbons falling from your bouquet. And of course, there is the ever popular The Mrs. Box or velvet lined invitations to add texture to your wedding flatlay.

Bonus: This trend isn't just for weddings. Can you picture those adorable heels post wedding day with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a white t-shirt?!

Leather Jackets

Prints + Metallics + Jewel Tones

The Pantone color of the year for 2017 is Greenery, and that has allowed some really unique bride tribe looks. The days of boring, even ugly, bridesmaids dresses are long gone! Printed dresses have been sneaking their way into weddings throughout 2017 and are the perfect dress for your girls to wear more than once! #bless

But that's not the only trend we are seeing as we approach the colder months, assorted jewel tones are what's hot! This look takes mix-n-match to a whole new level. Not only does it let your tribe choose a dress in their favorite silhouette, but now, they can choose the color they feel best in!

Last, but so not least, metallics are perfect for a glamorous wedding because who doesn't like shiny things?! Plus, metallic dresses feel extra festive during the holiday season.

Neon

This might be one of our favorite tends on the list! And it's really not just for winter. This trend started popping up on our Instagram feed a few months ago. At first we were pretty skeptical about the cost, but as more inspo photos are coming out, we are really being won over.

The most cost effective way to add this modern detail into your wedding is through your invitations. The glow font is a fun update that definitely shouts "let's party!" If you're looking for the real deal, but buying outright isn't in the budget, check out rental companies. Keep in mind investing in a neon sign for your wedding means you'll get to enjoy it long after you've said "I do." It would be a great reminder of the promise you've made, while adding a unique decor element to your home together.

Faux Fur

This is pretty classic for a winter wedding, but this inspo picture is the culmination of so many beautiful trends happening right now: lace fit-n-flare bridal gown, mix-n-match bridesmaid's dresses, metallics, and of course, fur! And we love the cream for the bride and gray for the girls.
