So you're planning a wedding...and losing your ever loving mind. We've got 10 tips to keep you from stressing out over wedding planning!
When you are feeling stressed take time to work it out, literally. When you are stressed and crunched for time the first thing to go is your workout, but make sure you hold on to that routine. You are doing more to relax yourself, giving yourself time to think, and releasing cortisol, the main anti-stress hormone.
2. MAKE PURPOSEFUL TIME WITH YOUR FIANCE
Often times during engagement, time with your fiance gets monopolized by wedding planning. Make sure to spend meaningful time enjoying your partner and keeping the spark alive.
3. EAT HEALTHY
What you eat affects your energy! Keep that energy up by eating lean proteins, nuts, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. It will also help you look your best in your dress!
4. TAKE “ME” TIME
Bubble baths, reading, wine, yoga. Whatever it is that gives you time to unwind, make sure you do it. Allow yourself to get away from your to-do list and rest!
5. DESIGNATE A WEDDING DAY CONTACT
Guests lost en route to the ceremony need someone to contact and that should not be the bride or groom! Hand your phone over to someone you trust or consider hiring a day of wedding coordinator to manage your family, friends, guests and vendors for any last minute problems that come up the day.
6. DON’T WEAR TOO MANY HATS: DELEGATE
You’ve done the research and you’ve hired vendors your trust for your wedding, now sit back and let them do their job. Let yourself be the bride and let those around you handle the rest.
When you are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed with all you have to do with your wedding, turn on your favorite light, up-beat song. It’s impossible to stay upset while belting old school Britney Spears songs.
8. HAVE TIME WITH YOUR GIRLFRIENDS TO RELAX
Get away from everyday life with your girls by grabbing happy hour, getting manicures and pedicures or just relax on the couch in sweats with a glass of wine while bingewatching your favorite guilty pleasure on Netflix. Whatever it is, just take time to connect with your girlfriends.
9. READ THROUGH OLD NOTES AND TEXTS FROM YOUR FIANCE
Allow yourself to go back to the beginning and remember how you fell in love.
10. REACH OUT TO THOSE AROUND YOU
At any point when you are feeling overwhelmed reach out to those around you for help. Your fiance, friends and family are all there to support you in this busy time so make sure to utilize; it helps you manage your stress and it allows them to feel included in the big day.
