We're back with week 3 of our Pro Tips series! We hope this series helps you make objective and informed decisions on your wedding planning journey. Your wedding stationery (invitation or save-the-date) is the first impression your big day will make on your wedding guests and sets the tone for the whole event. Today, wedding invitation designer extraordinaire Kim McDowell from The Event Essentials shares her pro tips for amazing wedding invitations and stationery.
- Choose the date you want to mail your wedding invitations by (8-10 weeks before the wedding date) and then make sure to start your invite order process no less than 8-10 weeks prior to that.
- When you are offering food options, have your guests initial their choice of entree on the reply card (instead of number). Then when you create place cards you will know which guest receives which meal option.
- Never buy postage without weighting a total finished piece first.
- Make your reply date 4-5 weeks before your wedding to give yourself enough time to create a seating chart before the big day.
