Find Your Wedding Dress In Three Steps

Your wedding gown is one of the most sentimental, personal and emotional purchases of your life! You'll want to find a dress that flaunts your best assets and is true to YOU! Trends come and go, but your personal style is timeless. All too often we meet brides who are trying to achieve a look that they've seen in magazines or a celebrity inspired style. When they slip into those dresses they just don't feel like themselves, we then use these next tips to help our brides find their dream dress! Keep reading so you too can find your wedding dress in three steps!

1. Take a look at your current wardrobe!

You'll notice a repeating style, fabric or neckline. Do you have a lot of lace skirts or shirts? Are strapless a-line dresses your go to for a Sunday out with the girls? Is your closet filled with high necklines? Take a few pointers from yourself and let your everyday style translate to your wedding style!

2. Find a few bridal designers who's styles you love.

Comb through your dream dress Pinterest board (we assumed you have one. obvis.) if you notice a you're constantly loving Stella York, or Watters or Pronovias gowns make note of that. You can also use The Knot wedding dress search engine to find designers you're really drawn to. When it's time for your bridal appointment, just let your stylist know which designers are your favorites. And we'll work our hardest to help you find one of their styles or something similar!

3. Consider the "style" of your wedding venue.

For example: if you're having a church ceremony, you might feel more comfortable in a dress with more coverage. Or if your venue is outdoors in the summer, you'll want to stay away from long sleeves - even though they're trending! And if your venue is in a barn or has rustic vibes, lace is a great fabric to go with, while on the other hand, if your venue in in a modern space like an art museum or industrial warehouse, clean lines and a structured fit are sure to make a statement! Overall, you want to make sure the aesthetic of your dress & venue are cohesive, so it all makes sense on your wedding day!

2018 Pantone Color of the Year

With the new year comes new trends, new ideas and a new Pantone Color of the Year! And this year's color is Ultra Violet. According to Pantone’s website, Ultra Violet is an energizing shade that inspires connection. They also mention this color “communicates visionary thinking that points us toward the future," which is so fitting for a wedding day where couples vow their whole futures to one another.

Picking wedding colors comes down to your personal style and coordinating with your selected theme. So to help get your creative, wedding-planning juices going, we're sharing a few ways to rock the new Pantone Color of the Year! Looking forward to 2018, you'll see favorites from this past year, but with a fun, new twist!

Maybe you're a big fan of the new Color of the Year or maybe you really can't imagine it being part of your day at all. We've heard lots of mixed reviews on this new hue; we think it's helpful to visualize this shade as more of an accent color and add it in sparingly. If you've already picked your wedding colors, not to worry there is still good inspo in this blog for you, as most of these ideas can be modified for any color scheme!

Geodes

Geodes add an organic element and unexpected texture to everyday wedding items. They come in a variety of colors, but these Ultra Violet babies will add some personality to your tablescapes. And we love any wedding item that does double duty like these name cards that your guests can take home as wedding favors!

Florals

Unique floral items are all the rage. We're seeing this trend everywhere, from floral flavored desserts and mixed drinks to artisans soaps and candles. You can even make your own flower lollipops, and if you get good at it, this could be a fun favor for your guests!

Tip: If you're thinking 'go big or go home' with your florals, make sure you talk through with your florist and/or planner how to repurpose your ceremony flowers. Not just so they are reused in your reception, but for after the wedding, as well. Here's a list of ideas from Loverly, in case you need some inspiration.

Galaxy

Ultra Violet was born for the galaxy theme, with it's futuristic undertone and mystical quality. It would make the perfect wedding theme for the bride that's super into astronomy or honestly, just can't get enough of the galactic goodness!

Marble

If pairing Ultra Violet with a monochromatic color palette is too overwhelming, try muting it with whites and metallics. These lighter hues tone down the intense color creating a softer look, while still adding a pop of color.

Are you planning on using any of these ideas in your 2018 wedding, or which wedding planning idea was your favorite? We'd love to hear about your vision. Leave us a comment below!

Our Brilliant Brides | Real Wedding | Erin + Elana

We are so thrilled to finally share photos from Erin + Elana's wedding! These ladies hosted their wedding at the beautiful Paseo Event Venue which is located at the foothills of the Superstition Mountains. Elana purchased her gown from our East Valley location a few months before her March 2016 wedding. The fun and exciting part of shopping for Elana was finding a gown that was true to her own style but also complimented Erin's dress.

Elana selected a gorgeous lace David Tutera gown that fit her personality so well! Sweet, feminine and delicate! The v neck straps and dramatic buttons on the back of the dress were the perfect classical touch. Elana & Erin definitely have similar tastes as they both rocked lace dresses with dramatic backs, but each chose a dress to let their personal bridal style shine. Our stylists did an amazing job at selecting the perfect dress for Elana!

One of our favorite moments from Erin & Elana's wedding is their first look! They both exchanged love notes before the wedding and held hands from around one of The Paseo's beautiful sliding barn doors. After a few picture perfect moments, they both stepped out to see each other for the first time. You can just feel their love through these photos!

Their photographer, Suzy Goodrick, did a phenomenal job capturing Erin + Elena's big day. You can see more beautiful photos from Erin & Elana's wedding on Suzy's blog post. Thank you, Suzy for sharing these wonderful photos with us!

3 easy steps to find your wedding dress style

Your wedding gown is one of the most sentimental, personal and emotional purchases of your life! You'll want to find a dress that flaunts your best assets and is true to YOU. Trends come and go, but your personal style is timeless. All too often we have brides who are trying to achieve a look that they've seen in magazines or a celebrity inspired style. When they slip into those dresses they don't feel themselves and are almost always disappointed. That is when we have to take a step back and really find out their own personal wedding style.

Here's a few tips to help you find your own personal wedding dress style!

1. Take a look at your current wardrobe! You'll notice a repeating style, fabric or neckline. Do you have a lot of lace skirts or shirts? Are strapless a-line dresses your go to for a Sunday out with the girls? Is your closet filled with high necklines? Take a few pointers from yourself and let your personal style translate to your wedding style!

2. The Knot has an extensive wedding dress search engine that we always recommend to our brides! Find a few designers that you really enjoy and save your favorite dresses. When you come into the boutique, show your stylist pictures of your favorites. We'll work our hardest to help you find your dream dress!

3. Keep your venue in mind. If you're having a church ceremony, we suggest selecting a style that covers up and isn't too 'busty'. If your venue is outdoors in the summer, stay away from long sleeves! If your venue is in a barn or has a rustic style, lace is the way to go! You'll want to make sure your wedding dress fits the venue & the aesthetic of your wedding day!
