Valentine’s Day is known as one of the most romantic days of the year and a wedding planned on this date is just as romantic. Maybe you chose this day to celebrate because of when you met your fiancé, or maybe it’s because of all the love the holiday represents. Regardless of why you chose this day to say “I do,” you may be wondering how you can make it apart of your wedding theme without it being cheesy. So here are a few of our favorite trends to make V-Day work for you and your wedding!

Details in the Decor

Traditionally, when we think of Valentine’s Day, our minds go straight to red and pink everything-- luckily, there are so many other ways to incorporate the holiday’s traditional colors into your decor in a classy way. One of our favorites decor items this year is neon, and we are obsessed with this ‘crazy in love’ neon sign. You can stick with the love theme by labeling each table with a card saying “love” in different language instead of a number. Additionally, you can serve drinks with a light pink hue to look both elegant and on theme-- grenadine is a great ingredient for this! For even more romantic, Valentine’s Day inspired ideas go here!

Bridesmaids

A trend that’s been growing as of late is the ombre bridesmaid look. Let your bride tribe choose what shade of pink or red they want to wear and you’ll have a beautiful ensemble standing next to you as you say, “I do.”  The best part about this look is that it compliments any bridesmaid dress style. However, we think it looks the most cohesive when paired with floor-length gowns. Either way, long or short, this gives your girls the freedom to choose a color that best suits them without things looking mismatched. For an even bolder look, add in some complementary shades of green!

Your Bridal Look

As the bride, you will be sure to be the center of attention on your wedding day. And there are some fun ways to keep the V-Day theme going with your skin care routine, so you look flawless on the big day. To prep your skin and keep it hydrated, try using a rose eye mask to moisturize and make your eyes look more awake. Be sure to not slack off on your current skin care regimen, and think about adding in a skin care product that firms and lifts your skin, so your make up will apply beautifully. Themed makeup looks can easily play up your favorite facial features, whether you want a glam, glittery eye or a bold lip. You can be as subtle or dramatic as you want and still keep the romantic vibes.

Floral Blooms in Pink Hues

This may be the easiest way to help create continuity in your updated Valentine’s Day theme. A monochromatic color scheme of all the shades of pinks and reds will look both elegant and perfectly, on theme. Play with adding texture for more visual interest in your arrangements. Hot Cocoa Bar

Hot cocoa bars are a hot trend for winter weddings and can be a fun detail to include in your Valentine’s Day themed reception as well. Holiday themed touches such as heart-shaped marshmallows and color coordinated candies are a fun way for guests to dress up their tasty treat.  If you want to wrap this idea into your favors, gift your guests a DIY mug or for a more eclectic look, but still budget friendly, gather some thrifted ones. Your friends and fam can use them to fill up with cocoa during the reception, and then take home at the end of the night.
